What we do

Four kinds of work, done properly. If yours is something else, call and ask. We’ll tell you straight if another firm would suit you better.

Wills and planning ahead

A will that says what you mean, written after a proper talk about your family. We’ll also sort out who steps in if you’re ever too unwell to decide for yourself.

  • Wills for singles, couples and blended families
  • Choosing the person who carries out your will
  • A trust set up in your will, often for children
  • Updating your will after a marriage, a separation or a new grandchild

When someone dies

If you’re the person who carries out the will, we take you through each step and do the paperwork, at a pace that suits the family.

  • The court’s OK to deal with someone’s estate
  • Collecting what they owned, paying debts and sharing out the rest
  • Advice if you’re someone who receives something under a will

Buying and selling property

Tomas handles the legal side of buying or selling a home, from the first read of the contract to settlement day.

  • Checking a contract before you sign it
  • Houses, units, land and shacks
  • Transfers between family members

Small business

Leases, business structures and buying a business. We read the fine print before you sign it, and explain it in a sentence.

  • Leases for shops, offices and workshops
  • Choosing how to set up your business
  • Checking a business properly before you buy it

How it works

  1. A free 15-minute call

Tell us what’s going on. We’ll tell you what you need, and what you don’t.

  2. Your fixed fee, in writing

Before any work starts, you get the fee, what it covers and roughly how long it takes.

  3. We meet where suits you

At our office, by video, or at your home or in hospital if you’re making a will.

  4. Sign, and we store your will

We keep your original will safe, free. The person who carries out your will collects it when it’s needed.

Who you’ll deal with

Two partners. You’ll talk to one of us from the first call to the last.

Eleanor Calder

Wills and estates

Eleanor will sit with you at your kitchen table or a hospital bedside if that’s easier, and she reads every clause aloud before you sign.

Tomas Wynn

Property and business

Tomas rings you the day before settlement with the final figures, so nothing on the day comes as a surprise.
