Around here

Kestrel Point is the quiet headland at the end of our road. Everything else is a short drive, and we’re happy to share our favourite places when you book.

  • The surf beach

A short drive away. The swell can be big, so check conditions before you swim. Each cottage has an outdoor shower for sandy feet.

  • The river walk

Starts at our front gate and follows the river through the bush. Allow a couple of hours there and back, and take water.

  • Wineries and breweries

All through the area, many with lunch. Book ahead on weekends and in school holidays, and sort out a driver.

  • Town for supplies

Groceries, fuel and a chemist are a short drive away. Stock up on your way in; there’s no shop out here.

Dogs
One dog is welcome in The Shed by request. No dogs in The Long House.

The road
The last stretch is gravel. Any car is fine; take it slowly and watch for kangaroos at dusk.

Questions

What if I need to cancel?

Sample policy: cancel 14 or more days before check-in for a full refund, or 7 to 13 days before for half. After that, we refund any nights we manage to rebook. If a bushfire or a road closure stops you getting here, we’ll move your dates or refund you in full.

What’s provided?

Beds made up with linen, bath and beach towels, firewood in winter, tea, coffee and pantry basics, and dishwashing and laundry liquid. Bring your own food; town is a short drive.

Is there mobile reception?

Patchy. Most networks get a bar or two outside and less indoors. Both cottages have free Wi-Fi, so calls and messages over Wi-Fi work fine.
