Year 5 maths

A bus leaves at 9:47 am and arrives at 10:15 am. How long is the trip?

Have a go! There's a note for every answer.

That's how every class works: we mark the working-out, not just the answer.

  1. A free 40-minute assessment

Your child does a short task with a tutor in the subject you choose. Then we sit down with you and explain what we saw, in plain words.

  2. A group of up to six

We place your child with students working at a similar level, so the tutor can read everyone's working-out in every class.

  3. A weekly class, with homework marked

Homework comes back marked the next week, with notes on the method as well as the answer.

  4. A written report each term, and a chat

At the end of each term you get a written report, then a chat with the tutor about what comes next.

Questions parents ask

Can my child join mid-term?

Yes. After the free assessment, your child can start the following week, and you pay only for the weeks left in the term.

What's in the assessment?

Forty minutes with a tutor: a short written task in the subject you choose, pitched at your child's school year. Then we talk with you about what we noticed and which group suits. It's free, and there's no obligation to enrol.

Do you guarantee results?

No. Nobody can honestly promise a mark or a school place. What we do measure, and show you in every term report: the skills your child has secured, how their homework is going week to week, and what we'll work on next.

How much homework is there?

About 20 minutes a week for Years 3 to 6, and 30 to 60 minutes for Years 7 to 12. It's marked and back with your child at the next class.
